Our Seventh Annual Pancakes for Habitat was a huge success thanks to the efforts of everyone who worked in planning, decorating, setting up the Fellowship Hall, registered volunteers, worked with tickets or greeting, drove volunteers, mixed batter, cooked pancakes and sausage, filled coffee cups and or drink glasses, cleaned tables, washed dishes and cleaned up after the last pancake was served. Your efforts raised over $8000 for WMSUMC Habitat construction. This day was an example of having faith; if we do our part God will take care of the rest! |

| Answers to Commonly Asked Questions About Mission Trips | |
|
Where Do Your Missioner Sponsorship Dollars Go? Sponsorship is done by Sunday School classes and other small groups in the church. Typically, sponsorship is only sought for the Mustard Seed Mission trips. These trips are for ten or more days and for adults only. The primary purpose of sponsorship is to provide missioners with spiritual support and to connect the mission trip experience with members of the congregation. Money donated through sponsorship is used to subsidize the supply budget for the mission trip. Who pays for Mission Trips? Mission team members pay for their own airfare, accommodations, food, transportation, trip insurance, and recreation expenses. How are supplies paid for? Supplies are primarily paid for through the Outreach Ministry budget, however, many times needs or the extent of needs are unforeseen and need to be subsidized. This is done through sponsorship donations and through funds raised through Grasshopper baseball parking. Are Mission Trips just for Congregation Members? No. Many times congregation members invite friends to join mission trips. In fact, several visiting missioners in recent years have gone on to join the church! However, when available space for a trip is limited, priority will be given to congregation members. What if I can’t afford to go on a Mission Trip? Outreach Ministry seeks to price each trip as affordably as possible, and will not let anyone be prevented from going on a mission trip due to financial constraints. That said, it is recognized that mission trips do require a sacrifice of time, money, and even comfort. If, however, some funds are needed there is scholarship money available through the Outreach budget. A Mission Trip Scholarship Committee has recently been formed to review all requests. |
